Workplace Health and Safety Specialist

This role is an opportunity to lead safety initiatives, provide essential WH&S training, and ensure the organisation adheres to the highest safety standards in a remote Indigenous community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective WH&S policies and procedures.
  • Lead WH&S audits, risk assessments, and committee meetings.
  • Manage Workers Compensation and Return to Work programs.
  • Ensure safety compliance, including cultural awareness and communication.
  • Provide regular WH&S performance reports to the Executive team.

Requirements:

  • Certificate IV in WHS or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven WHS experience, ideally in remote or regional settings.
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and safety systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with Indigenous communities.
  • A passion for safety, risk management, and cultural inclusivity.
