Are you a skilled mechanic looking for a challenging role? We have an exciting opportunity for a Truck Mechanic to join our team at Maxitrans, a leading manufacturer and supplier of high-quality engineered road transport equipment and solutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing and repairing trucks as per repair order instructions, promoting customer satisfaction to the required dealer standards. They will also oversee the work of any apprentice technicians assigned to them.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform work as per repair order instructions
  • Advise of any additional work required to the workshop foreman
  • Document all work performed, including cause and correction, and recommend any work not carried out during service and repair
  • Ensure the customer vehicle is left in the same condition as it was received, including cleanliness and adjustments
  • Supervise any assigned apprentice technicians
  • Operate all tools and equipment safely and report any safety issues or equipment defects to management immediately
  • Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts
  • Attend all dealership and service department meetings and online training when requested
  • Keep the workshop area neat and clean and account for all dealership-owned tools at all times

Requirements:

  • Trade Certificate: Required
  • Drivers Licenses: Equivalent to the role, including car, light duty, truck, and agriculture licenses
  • Technical Knowledge: As per their qualification specifications
  • Customer Service: Committed to providing exceptional customer service across all channels
  • Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, varying communication style depending on the audience
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and written skills when communicating with others
  • Teamwork: Willingness to assist and support others as required and get on with team members
  • Time Management/ Organization: Accomplish objectives effectively within the given time frame and carry out administrative duties in an efficient and timely manner
