Job Overview:

Whizdom Recruitment is seeking an exceptional Senior Data Solutions Specialist to join our team in Sydney. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and delivering cutting-edge data solutions for our clients.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in designing and engineering complex data solutions, with expertise in big data platforms, cloud environments, and data governance. You will lead full solution development, providing technical leadership and troubleshooting in complex client settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and support future-ready data solutions across diverse industries.
  • Build and optimize batch and near real-time data flows and pipelines.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of big data, cloud platforms, data lakes, ML/AI, and analytics.
  • Master data integration, ingestion, transformation techniques, and consumption patterns.
  • Lead the development and presentation of Proof of Concepts and working demos.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Big Data & Cloud Expertise: Proven experience in big data platform delivery and cloud-based data lake environments.
  • End-to-End Solution Leadership: Lead full solution development, providing technical leadership and troubleshooting in complex client settings.
  • Financial Services Experience: 3+ years in large, complex financial organizations, preferably within banking.
  • Data Process Engineering: 7+ years designing and engineering complex data solutions, with advanced transformation and data quality analysis experience.
  • Solution Presentation: Skilled in presenting, justifying, and defending solution designs to senior stakeholders.
  • Unix/Linux & Big Data Tech: Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux servers, Hadoop, Azure, Python, and Apache Spark.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication for engaging presentations and clear reporting.
  • Agile Team Player: Proven ability to manage time, collaborate effectively, and thrive in fast-paced, agile environments.
  • Strong Work Ethic: Committed to going the extra mile in demanding environments to deliver exceptional results.

What's on Offer:

This contract is expected to run for 2-3 years, offering a competitive salary package, including $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for career growth.
