Audit and Assurance Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Audit and Assurance Officer at the Ballarat City Council. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality audit and assurance services to the Council.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with business units to identify, manage, and report on risk and facilitate the completion of internal audits and recommendations.
- Contribute to and coordinate the timely preparation and distribution of high-quality reports to the Audit and Risk Committee.
- Ensure that the Committee is meeting its legislative obligations.
- Work in a dynamic and varied environment with a collaborative and fun team to deliver a high-quality audit and assurance function.
- Degree or diploma course in risk management, audit, assurance, compliance, or a related field with relevant experience.
- Well-developed expertise and proficiency in risk management, audit management, and/or assurance, including the application of theories and principles in practical circumstances.
- Highly developed ability to work as part of a collaborative team and contribute to the team environment.
- Well-developed ability to conduct investigative research, legislative and policy interpretation, including the ability to analyze and critically consider findings to provide advice, recommendations, and options to relevant stakeholders.
- High level customer service skills and excellent communication skills, including the capacity to deal with people face-to-face, over the phone, and via other mechanisms of communication as required.
