About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Child and Family Services team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting Child and Family Practitioners in delivering high-quality services to vulnerable children and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with complex cases, supporting children, young people, and their families, and undertake comprehensive assessments to develop, implement, monitor, and review case plans.
  • Support other Child and Family Practitioners with their complex cases, including attending visits, meetings, and resolving challenging situations.
  • Coordinate with other service providers, assisting clients to engage with wrap-around services directly, as appropriate.
  • Attend review meetings, case conferences, worker meetings, and consultation meetings, ensuring appropriate documentation is kept.
  • Coach, advise, and provide on-the-job support to Child and Family Practitioners, Counsellors, and others to improve client outcomes.
  • Support the leadership team with learning and onboarding needs, developing solutions to build capacity within the team.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Degree-qualified in social work, psychology, or a similar field.
  • Extensive experience in case management, particularly in child protection.
  • A strong grasp of child protection issues, including substance abuse, domestic violence, and trauma's impact on child development.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based practices and intervention models, such as developmental and attachment theories.
  • Computer literacy and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skilled in building relationships with stakeholders.
