Becoming a skilled patissier requires dedication, creativity and attention to detail. In this first year apprenticeship, you will develop your skills in handcrafting made-to-order cakes, cupcakes and biscuits for all occasions.

This full-time position offers the opportunity to work under the guidance of an experienced pastry chef and participate in regular training sessions. Your passion for baking and decorating will come to life as you create beautiful and delicious treats for customers.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Baking a wide range of high-quality bakery products
  • Operating multiple machines with provided training
  • Making different kinds of dough and icing
  • Cleaning all equipment, utensils & working areas
  • Sound understanding of WHS and food safety standard operations
  • Team player attitude and ability to follow instructions and direction from Head Chef
  • Being reliable, punctual, hardworking and able to work in a fast-paced environment

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • An exceptional eye for detail
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to attend TAFE 1 day per week at Meadowbank / Ryde
  • Flexibility to work Mon-Fri 8am-4pm with occasional Saturdays and Sundays at busy times (Christmas)
