About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team at Gallagher Bassett. As a key member of our technical operations team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our organisation's technical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement a broad range of core infrastructure technologies, including SAN, server hardware, VMWare, Citrix, Microsoft server operating systems, and Active Directory.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures, including access controls and data protection measures.
  • Establish effective monitoring and alerting across the infrastructure platform.
  • Ensure all infrastructure systems are incorporated into the relevant backup and disaster recovery frameworks.
  • Deploy applications and patches across both the Windows and Linux operating system platforms.
  • Participate in transition to support activities for key projects to ensure the successful ongoing operational support of all new systems.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate system documentation to ensure that documentation is current and relevant.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Systems Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Experience with systems and equipment from leading vendors, such as VMware, Citrix, HPE, NetApp, Rubrik, and Microsoft.
  • Certifications in Windows Server, Redhat Linux, Active Directory, VMware, and Citrix are desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of system design principles, including hardware, software, and network components.
  • Hands-on experience with system monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
