About the Role:

HKS Mexico City is seeking an Architect I to contribute to our Hospitality team. As a licensed Architect, you will assist in developing project and design solutions, working independently with guidance. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn and innovate, with a strong ability to anticipate job expectations and perform design and technical tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and modify implementation documents, applying standard architectural techniques and procedures, with general supervision.
  2. Collaborate on design and technical resolution and coordination for a defined portion of a project.
  3. Assist in preparing client presentations and present project design intent.
  4. Conduct product research and assist project designers with material selection and system research.
  5. Support research of code and zoning requirements.
  6. Attend on-site visits, field reviews, and client and/or project meetings, documenting these visits as appropriate.
  7. Assist in preparing schedules and reviewing implementation documents and samples as needed.
  8. Communicate with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to incorporate information into project requirements and documents.
  9. Provide guidance and direction to entry-level staff as appropriate.
  10. Participate in team meetings to discuss project issues, technical issues, and coordination with other disciplines.
  11. Foster and maintain a collaborative professional working relationship with the project team.
  12. Travel may be required.

Requirements:

  1. Accredited professional degree in Architecture.
  2. Architectural Registration required (Cédula Professional).
  3. Typically with 0-5 years of experience in equivalent quality design firms.
  4. Sustainable design accreditation preferred.
  5. Experience in architectural software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and 3D modeling preferred.
  6. Experience in Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, and InDesign graphic software preferred.
  7. Proficiency in MS Office Suite preferred.
  8. Knowledge of sustainability and integrated design guidelines.
  9. Knowledge of QA/QC process and building codes.
  10. Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and professional manner both verbally and in writing.
  11. Ability to problem solve and collaborate on innovative solutions.
  12. Ability to work in a team environment.
  13. Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
  14. Ability to effectively meet deadlines at expected quality.
