As a Financial Accountant at HeliMods, you will be an integral member of our close-knit finance team, driving the continuous development and maturity of our finance function.

Your role is pivotal in leveraging advanced enterprise systems and technologies to enhance the accuracy, timelines, and quality of our financial reporting.

Your work will involve collaborating with diverse teams across the company to spearhead automation initiatives, system implementations, and the development of reporting, forecasting, and budgeting processes.

• Design and Implement Financial Timetables: Establish and refine monthly and annual accounting timetables and processes that align with HeliMods' operational needs.
• Deliver Accurate Financial Reporting: Ensure the timely delivery of precise month-end management accounts and full-year financial statements.
• Enhance ERP Systems: Collaborate with multifunctional teams to optimize our ERP system, providing more accurate cost information for our projects, which include onsite advanced manufacturing and assembly operations.
• Utilize Business Intelligence Tools: Apply business intelligence tools to generate insightful reports and visualizations that support performance tracking, planning, and informed decision-making.
• Tax Compliance: Work closely with the finance team to ensure compliance with all tax obligations, including BAS and annual return calculations.
• Support Financial Applications: Assist in preparing and managing financial data for various applications and reporting requirements, including grants and R&D.
• Manage Core Financial Functions: Work with the team to ensure efficient and timely key financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Drive Capability Development: Partner with other teams to lead or support critical projects, such as automation initiatives, systems implementations, and the continuous improvement of financial processes across HeliMods.
• Contribute to Company Projects: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver on high-impact projects and programs that drive HeliMods' strategic goals.

• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• CPA or CA Qualification: Highly preferred.

• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar financial accounting role, preferably within a complex project-based or manufacturing environment.
• ERP Systems: Experience with ERP systems (preferably Dynamics 365 Business Central) and advanced Excel skills are essential.
• Business Intelligence Tools: Familiarity with business intelligence tools and working in Microsoft Teams and Sharepoint is advantageous.

• Team Structure: You will be part of a small close-knit finance team (2), reporting directly to the Head of Finance, and collaborating closely with other departments.
• Contract Details: This is a 6-month contract role, with potential for renewal or transition to a permanent position, depending upon the development of the business, the team, and the contractor during the term of the contract.
• Location and Flexibility: The role is based at our headquarters in Caloundra, Queensland. Flexible working arrangements, including some remote work, may be available depending on individual circumstances.
