St Patricks Primary School, Cessnock, is seeking a Permanent Part Time (19.5 hours per week) Learning Support Assistant to join the team Tuesday - Friday each week.

The successful applicant will work in quality schools where students are nurtured, challenged and encouraged to excel and grow.

As a member of the school community, you will be part of a corporate fitness program through Fitness Passport and an employee assistance program (EAP).

The Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable persons and preventing those in our care from suffering abuse or neglect.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic education and the mission of the Church through Catholic schools
  • Experience working with students with disability (K-12)
  • Demonstrated ability to work under the direction of a teacher, and in collaboration with school staff, CSO staff, and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively administer assessments, and deliver interventions, under the direction of a teacher
  • Knowledge about the relevant Disability legislation and the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data
