Mine Closure Expert Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mine Closure Expert to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong background in mine closure planning and related studies. The successful candidate will have the ability to apply technical knowledge at a working level on mine closure planning and related studies, as well as possess advanced written and oral communication skills.

This role requires a deep understanding of engineering principles, geoscience concepts, and environmental regulations. As a Mine Closure Expert, you will be responsible for managing or supporting technical interdisciplinary projects of moderate scope, preparing proficient technical and regulatory documentation and reports, and leading proposals of moderate scope. Additionally, you will interact competently with internal and external stakeholders of varying levels of expertise, foster and maintain client relationships, and participate or lead risk workshops.

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Engineering (mining, civil, environmental, geo-environmental) or Geoscience (geology, hydrogeology, geochemistry, chemistry) or similar. Current registration as a Professional Engineer/Geoscientist or actively pursuing professional designation is also required. Strong project management and organizational skills are essential for this role, as well as the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

Job Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (mining, civil, environmental, geo-environmental) or Geoscience (geology, hydrogeology, geochemistry, chemistry) or similar.
  • Current registered as a Professional Engineer/Geoscientist or actively pursuing professional designation.
  • Apply technical knowledge at a working level on mine closure planning and related studies.
  • Regulatory permitting, writing and interpreting documentation is an asset.
  • Environmental assessment experience is an asset.
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills.
  • Advanced skills in the areas of project management, planning and organizing.
  • Demonstrate an ability to competently use their initiative to resolve tasks or problems that arise.
  • Demonstrate an ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and clients.
