Job Title: Rehabilitation Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Rehabilitation Consultant to join our team at IPAR. As a Rehabilitation Consultant, you will play a critical role in providing occupational rehabilitation services to clients with a range of conditions, both physical and psychological.

About the Role:

This diverse role offers the flexibility and autonomy to manage your own day, with the support of a strong, close team of driven and energetic healthcare professionals. You will work collaboratively with injured workers, employers, medical and allied health professionals to develop and implement injury prevention and workplace education programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Case management, including manageable caseloads and support from Rehabilitation Assistants to alleviate administrative tasks;
  • Applying clinical knowledge to improve return to work outcomes;
  • Working with employers and employees to develop and implement injury prevention and workplace education programs;
  • Collaborating with injured workers, employers, medical and allied health professionals;
  • Working across various schemes, including workers compensation, compulsory third party, life insurance, Comcare, Department of Veteran's Affairs, and employer-funded injury prevention programs;
  • Assisting those with an injury or health condition to achieve return to health and return to work outcomes;
  • Completing assessments using clinical skills, including initial, workplace, and vocational assessments to review diagnosis, support treatment plans, address psychosocial barriers to employment, and identify suitable employment opportunities for workers who have sustained workplace injuries or injuries sustained from motor vehicle accidents.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Health Sciences, or Rehabilitation Counselling;
  • General or Provisional registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Psychologist or eligibility for Associate or Full membership with Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counsellors (ASORC);
  • Previous experience working in Occupational Rehabilitation industry highly regarded;
  • Fabulous communication skills, including getting to know clients and stakeholders;
  • Compassion and kindness, as well as empathy;
  • Well-developed time management skills;
  • A current NSW Driver's License and access to own car with comprehensive insurance.
