Job Overview

The Azure Networking team designs and builds software-defined network infrastructure that powers millions of servers for various cloud services.

With the growth of AI, Microsoft is developing AI technologies, and the team is tasked to design and build next-generation AI networks.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Work with stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of features.
  2. Contribute to identifying dependencies and developing design documents for a product area with minimal oversight.
  3. Create and implement code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code where applicable.
  4. Participate in breaking down larger work items into smaller tasks and provide estimation.
  5. Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) on-call to monitor system/product feature/service for degradation and gain approval to restore service for simple problems.
  6. Stay current in skills to improve availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products and drive consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
Required Skills and QualificationsMust-Haves:
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, Go, JavaScript, or Python.
  2. OR equivalent experience.
  3. 1+ year of experience in backend infrastructure.
  4. Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, design efficiently, and write solid code.
Other Requirements:
  1. Ability to meet Microsoft security screening requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field; OR related technical field AND 4+ years of experience; OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field AND 2+ years of experience; OR equivalent experience.
  2. 1+ year of experience with networking, distributed systems, and system-level programming.
  3. 1+ year of experience with agile methodology.
  4. Proficient communication skills.
