Expression of Interest – Governance Professionals (All Levels)

Central Highlands Regional Council is seeking a highly skilled governance professional to contribute to our team.

This role involves working closely with our Governance Team to provide administrative support and assistance to ensure the efficient functioning of the Governance section.

  • Governance Support Officer — In this role you will achieve and maintain a high standard of Governance Frameworks and legislative compliance through the effective support of administrative and statutory processes, ensuring excellence in Governance across all of Council's operations and functions.
  • Governance, Corporate Planning & Policy Officer — In this role, you will strengthen and maintain council's suite of policies, guidelines, and procedures in order to ensure that council officers are appropriately guided in the execution of their duties. This position is also responsible for compiling and presenting regular reports on council's performance against key corporate goals. Working with the broader Governance Team, this position will also be key in assisting as required across areas such as risk, insurance and administrative governance work (including the preparation of delegations and authorisations documentation).
  • Governance Specialist — In this role your objective will be to provide technical governance expertise to assist and coordinate the Governance Team in carrying out enterprise risk management, audit and assurance, business continuity planning, policy and procedure development, corporate planning & reporting and integrity management functions for Council, supporting the organisation to meet regulatory and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing administrative support and assistance to the Governance Team
  • Ensuring compliance with Governance Frameworks and legislative requirements
  • Developing and maintaining policies, guidelines, and procedures
  • Compiling and presenting regular reports on council's performance
  • Providing technical governance expertise to support the Governance Team
