About This Role

We are seeking a Laboratory Manager to lead our pathology laboratory in South Australia.

This is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality pathology services, driving operational excellence and compliance with regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing and supporting a large multidisciplinary team, fostering collaboration, innovation and quality.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Oversee daily laboratory operations, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Monitor quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
  • Supervise all scientific, administrative and technical functions.
  • Provide scientific and technical expertise in performing and overseeing diagnostic procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, implementing changes to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Implement workflow targets to meet priority and triage requirements.
  • Ensure the laboratory is compliant with National Standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and manage a team of Laboratory Supervisors and Managers.
  • Conduct performance reviews and support professional development.

To Be Successful, You Will Have:

  • A strong background in science with commercial acumen.
  • Proven capability in leading high-performing teams and cultivating effective relationships.
  • Tertiary qualification in Science or equivalent that fulfils NPAAC criteria.
  • Tertiary qualification in Business or related discipline.
  • Proven leadership experience in a large organisation, preferably in the pathology sector.
  • Exceptional communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to cope in a busy environment and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated understanding of budgets and problem-solving skills.
