Workshop Lead Position

This is an opportunity for a hands-on leader with strong trade experience and proven supervisory skills to oversee people, safety, and performance in a dynamic workshop environment.

We seek an experienced professional to lead our Mining Equipment Division in Unanderra.

The ideal candidate will possess leadership or supervisory experience in a workshop setting, solid budgeting and cost management skills, and a proactive, accountable, and safety-first mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and motivating a team of skilled tradespeople
  • Reporting on workshop performance and budgets
  • Driving a strong safety culture by overseeing safety procedures and protocols
  • Overseeing fault diagnosis, repairs, and maintenance across a range of diesel-powered mining equipment
  • Managing planned maintenance programs and component replacement
  • Ensuring compliance with quality expectations
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in workshop operations

Requirements:

  • Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, Mechanical, or Fabrication trade
  • Leadership or supervisory experience in a workshop environment
  • Strong knowledge of underground or surface mining equipment
  • Solid budgeting and cost management experience
  • Experience with Microsoft suite
  • A proactive, accountable, and safety-first mindset
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative approach
  • Valid driver's licence, with forklift licence and other tickets advantageous
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug screening
