Job Description:

Hofmann Engineering is seeking an experienced postprocessor developer to join their Computer-Aided Manufacturing team.

The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and customizing Siemens NX postprocessors, collaborating with CAM programmers and machinists, debugging and testing postprocessor output, maintaining and updating postprocessor libraries and documentation, working with Siemens Post Configurator and/or Post Builder, assisting in implementing and standardizing CAM processes across the organization, and providing support and training to CAM programmers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and customize Siemens NX postprocessors.
  • Collaborate with CAM programmers and machinists.
  • Debug and test postprocessor output.
  • Maintain and update postprocessor libraries and documentation.
  • Work with Siemens Post Configurator and/or Post Builder.
  • Assist in implementing and standardizing CAM processes.
  • Provide support and training to CAM programmers.

The ideal candidate will have formal qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, 3+ years of experience in NX CAM postprocessor development or a similar role, proficiency in Siemens NX CAM, including experience with Post Builder and Post Configurator, strong knowledge of G-code, CNC programming, and common machine tool controllers, experience with 3-axis, 5-axis, Mill Turn, Multi-Function machine post development, and experience with TCL or other scripting languages used in postprocessor customization, and exposure to NX Open or NX custom automation solutions.
