- Lead a team of hospitality professionals, ensuring smooth and efficient food and beverage service.
- Assign tasks and duties to team members, promoting productivity and rotation of job tasks.
- Conduct pre-service and post-service briefings to ensure a high level of service quality.
- Support the Head of Department in training and developing team members, ensuring they receive a thorough induction and ongoing training.
- Assist in preparing training plans and conducting on-the-job training sessions.
- Maintain par levels, order stock, and monitor rosters to ensure the department operates within budgetary guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with licensing and operating legislation, including the Liquor Act.
- Complete operational reports, providing a clear record of department history for future forecasting.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure a consistent standard of food quality and presentation.
- Establish open channels of communication between departments to ensure smooth operation.
- Ensure the department is consistently ready for service at scheduled operating times.
- Perform daily takings reconciliation and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure team members have strong product knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
- Ensure team members have a strong understanding of wine styles and menu offerings.
- Adhere to opening and closing procedures to maintain a high level of service quality.
- Report maintenance work required in the proximity of the outlet to the Head of Department.
- Assist guests with enquiries and complaints, providing accurate information about Property facilities and features.
- A current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification is essential.
- A strong understanding of day-to-day restaurant operations is required.
- A passion for delivering exceptional service and creating an amazing experience for every customer.
- An ability to work as a well-rounded leader and team player.
The base hourly rate is $27.83, equivalent to $54, $65,000 based on working days and penalties applicable as per the Hospitality Industry General Award.
