About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Health Specialist to join our client, a leading engineering company specializing in innovative waste management solutions. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing health and safety policies, conducting risk assessments and safety audits, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain health and safety policies that comply with current legislation and industry best practices.
  2. Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify hazards and implement corrective actions based on incident investigations.
  3. Maintain compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and Australian HSE regulations, including preparing performance reports for management.
  4. Lead initiatives to enhance safety performance and sustainability practices, collaborating with teams to foster a proactive safety culture.
  5. Develop and execute comprehensive safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
Requirements
  1. Minimum 5 years of health and safety experience, ideally in manufacturing or automotive industries.
  2. Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety required, with additional certifications like Certificate IV in WHS and First Aid/CPR training desirable.
  3. Strong expertise in developing and implementing health and safety management systems, including ISO45001 compliance.
  4. Proven ability in conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations, with a solid understanding of relevant legislation.
  5. Excellent leadership, communication, and training skills, with the ability to influence and drive cultural change across all levels.
