The finance team plays a vital role in the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small Business by providing a range of financial services and advice to divisional areas. This enables effective budget management and strategic decision-making in alignment with the department's strategic plan.

As a key member of the team, you will oversee client budgets, produce monthly reports, and provide high-level financial services, analytics, and advice to the Data and Digital Government division.

This position is part of the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small Business as part of machinery-of-government changes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver management accounting services such as budgeting, financial management, and performance reporting for key stakeholders.
  • Establish detailed costing models, accurate forecasts, and high-quality financial reports to support departmental decision-making.
  • Manage budget and funding reconciliations between different systems.
  • Maintain collaborative working relationships with clients and stakeholders through regular meetings and communication.
  • Coordinate team activities and services to ensure timely, accurate, and effective delivery.
  • Lead and inspire a team to deliver customer-focused services in an efficient and innovative way.
