We are recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join our Maintenance Team at our Northshore Mineral Sand Plant in Bunbury. The position is offered on a permanent basis with a 9 day fortnight roster and 38 hour week.

About the Role

The Mechanical Fitter will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and be responsible for:

  • Removing, installing, maintaining, and overhauling rotating equipment, pumps, piping, compressors, elevators, and conveyor equipment.
  • Identifying and reporting defects and suggesting improvements to existing plant equipment, methods, and procedures.
  • Providing a proactive approach to preventative maintenance and ensuring a high standard of workmanship is carried out.
  • Completing all documentation to a high standard to ensure accurate and detailed information is entered into Tronox's Maintenance Systems.
  • Being highly committed to a positive safety, hazard identification, and reporting culture.
  • Having strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Assisting Operators as required, including preparing and isolating equipment.
  • Recording process information and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborating with team members and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Participating in a call-out roster.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Mechanical Trade Certificate - Fitting.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a Mechanical Maintainer role, including experience with Process Plants, Pumps, Structural, Mechanical, and Piping works within the Mining industry.
  • A Current C Class Drivers' Licence unrestricted.
  • Experience in fault finding and repairs to hydraulic systems.
  • A team-oriented approach to your work while possessing the ability to work independently if required.
  • Solid decision-making skills.
  • A demonstrated strong commitment to safety.
