Job Title: Senior Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Operations Specialist to join our team at Queensland Health. As a key member of our operational management team, you will play a critical role in supporting large-scale, enterprise Cloud environments for a single, high-demand organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond quickly to incidents and customer requests, ensuring challenges are resolved efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to Cloud platforms and applications, making sure customers are well supported.
  • Partake in regular operational activities to guarantee smooth operation, security, and overall health of Cloud platforms.
  • Proactively monitor platforms and provide recommendations to optimise operational maturity, delivering continuous operational improvements in our Cloud environments.
  • Be part of customer-facing representation for Cloud operational team, handling interactions with professionalism and clear communication.
  • Proactively maintain thorough and accurate documentation, ensuring operational processes, resolutions, and platform improvements are well documented.
Requirements:
  • 2-3 years hands-on experience delivering Cloud infrastructure solutions and supporting Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services Cloud platforms (Iaa S, Paa S, Saa S).
  • Must possess understanding of commonly used Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services technologies, for example: Amazon Web Services: IAM, roles & policies, organisations, virtual private cloud, connectivity, database types.
  • Cloud Networking & Security (Azure Firewall, Express Route, Direct Connect, Private Link, including Cloud native security tools).
  • Cloud Automation and Deployment (Azure Dev Ops and CICD Pipelines, ARM, Bicep, AWS Cloud Formation, Terraform).
  • Identity & Federation Services Entra ID, AWS IAM, Federated authentication, Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management.
  • Scripting Languages (Power Shell, Python, Shell, familiarity with Azure & AWS REST APIs).
  • Microsoft Windows Server and Linux Server (Operating System management and support).
  • Active Directory and DNS.
