About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior CloudOps Specialist to join our team at Virgin Australia. As a thought leader in cloud technologies, you'll be responsible for building and deploying highly scalable solutions to accelerate our cloud journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and Kubernetes.
  • Maintain and enhance infrastructure as code practices to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Deliver cloud infrastructure through infrastructure as code, ensuring seamless deployment and management.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and champion changes to technology, including automation.
  • Support both agile and waterfall ways of working, minimizing contention between teams.
  • Ensure streamlined end-to-end processes that minimize hand-offs within IT.
  • Provide indirect leadership to developers engaged in project delivery, driving consistency across projects and alignment to our technology roadmap and architectural standards.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years' experience in AWS or equivalent public cloud services, with 1 year experience as a technical leader.
  • Knowledge and experience of AWS, DevOps, Kubernetes, Networking, Infrastructure as Code, and security in the public cloud space.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure deployment patterns and ability to develop requirements into effective solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and process development/improvement skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively plan, prioritize, and manage multiple and competing activities to meet business expectations.
  • Excellent understanding of IT systems architecture, enabling effective integration and optimization of technological solutions.
