About the Role

As an educator in a vocational setting, you will be responsible for delivering IT and Cybersecurity courses. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing effective education practices and lesson delivery that cater to diverse learner needs.
  • Maintaining teaching resources and materials in line with regulatory standards, training packages, and requirements.
  • Fostering a positive learning environment by encouraging students to take ownership of their learning.
  • Adapting teaching materials to accommodate different learners, environments, and resources.
  • Providing administrative support related to course areas taught.
  • Aiding in establishing, maintaining, and reviewing teaching programs.
  • Ensuring a respectful and inclusive environment free from discrimination, bullying, and harassment.

To succeed in this role, you must have strong skills in research, resource utilization, and assessment tool application.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

The following qualifications are necessary for the position:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) or equivalent.
  • Certificate IV or Diploma in one of the following fields:
    • Certificate II in Information, Digital Media and Technology.
    • Certificate III in Information, Digital Media and Technology.
    • Certificate IV in Information Technology.
    • Certificate IV in Cyber Security.
    • Diploma of Software Development.
    • Diploma of IT Networking.
    • Advanced Diploma of Network Security.
    • Advanced Diploma of Cyber Security.
  • Registration with relevant professional bodies as required for the teaching discipline.
  • Vocational Competency Record, mapped to engaged Units of Competency.
  • Professional Currency Record, demonstrating current industry and teaching knowledge.
