Aboriginal Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a senior clinician who is passionate about improving the mental health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, adolescents, and families. This position will work across Awabakal, Worimi, and Wonnarua lands and involves working closely with a dedicated team of multi-disciplinary mental health professionals.

About the role:

  • You will be part of a Deadly team committed to helping the local community access mental health services and work with children/young people and their parents/carers/family and their communities.
  • Provide high-quality culturally appropriate mental health assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation services for children/young people and their families using best practice principles associated with collaborative partnerships with consumers, families, the multidisciplinary team, and other key stakeholders.

About you:

  • You will have the ability to work in collaboration with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) / YAMHS Leadership Teams to ensure the provision of culturally safe clinical care that is inclusive and responsive to Aboriginal Community's needs.
  • You will be passionate about improving mental health and sustaining the social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, adolescents, and families.

Requirements:

  • Able to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Familiarity with best-practice principles associated with collaborative partnerships.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal culture and its relevance to mental health and wellbeing.
