Disability Support Professional

United NT Disability Services seeks a compassionate and dedicated support professional to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals with disabilities.

About the Role

This is an opportunity for a motivated individual to make a positive impact on the lives of our clients, working closely with them to develop personalized support plans and assist with daily activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and transportation.

Responsibilities:
  • Providing person-centered support and assistance with daily living tasks, including personal care and medication management.
  • Assisting clients with mobility and transfers using safe manual handling techniques.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to prevent and manage difficult behaviors.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including treating teams and allied health professionals.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess excellent communication skills, a strong ability to work collaboratively, and a client-focused approach. You will have:

  • Proven experience in providing direct support to complex needs clients who require a high level of care and behavior management.
  • Strong manual handling skills, including hoist and wheelchair use.
  • Practical knowledge and experience working with individuals with physical and mental disabilities.

  • National Police Check (within 3 months)
  • Passport and/or Visa (if applicable)
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
  • NDIS New Worker Induction Module
  • Any relevant qualifications such as Certificate, Degree and AHPRA registration.
