Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Family Law Specialist to join our team. This role will involve providing expert advice and representation in family law matters, including domestic violence cases.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in family law, with a strong understanding of the Northern Territory legal system and its unique challenges. They will be responsible for delivering high-quality services to clients, working closely with colleagues to achieve excellent outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and representation in family law matters, including domestic violence cases
  • Develop and deliver training programs for staff on family law issues
  • Contribute to policy development and implementation related to family law
  • Mentor and supervise junior lawyers to ensure their skills and knowledge are up-to-date

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 5 years' post-admission experience in family law, particularly in the Northern Territory
  • A strong understanding of family law principles and procedures, including the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders
  • A commitment to promoting women's interests and rights, and an understanding of the specific challenges faced by women in the Northern Territory
