About the Role

The Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network is seeking a skilled Community Support Specialist to join our team. As a Community Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals who are aged, frail, or disabled and wish to remain living in their own homes with some assistance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care, cleaning, meal preparation, transport, and social support to clients
  • Work autonomously in the community, with flexibility to adapt to changing client needs
  • Collaborate with clients, their families, and other health professionals to provide quality outcomes and maintain client independence
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and their families
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • Current driver's license and access to a reliable, registered, and insured motor vehicle
  • Ability to engage with Aboriginal consumers in a culturally appropriate manner
  • Willingness to undertake further training in cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Desirable: current first aid certificate, Certificate III in Individual Support, and Certificate IV in Disability
