About the Role

The Assistant Principal Religious Education (APRE) shares with the Principal the responsibility for spiritual and theological leadership and the development of faith formation.

  • Collaborates in the strong leadership that the Principal and the school's leadership team provides
  • Discerns, strengthens and actively promotes the school's Catholic identity and mission

Key Responsibilities

  • Promotes and leads the identity and mission of the school as a Catholic school
  • Leads others in faith formation experiences and social justice initiatives
  • Designs, implements and assesses practices in the Religious Education curriculum
  • Develops contemporary pedagogical practice in Religious Education relevant to the cultural context of the school community

Requirements

  • A Catholic who is an active member of a Sunday Eucharistic community
  • A person with integrity who has a personal relationship with and commitment to Christ and a just engagement with the world
  • Holds a Graduate Certificate in Religious Education and completion or working towards a Masters Degree in Religious Education, Theological Studies and/or Catholic educational leadership
