About the Role:
The role of a Support Worker in our Community Supports Services is to provide assistance to clients with disabilities, focusing on skill development and enhancing their lives through engaging activities.
This position may involve providing in-home support for clients, which could require working non-traditional hours, including afternoons, nights, and weekends.
About You:
- You will be confident in building positive relationships with clients, effectively engaging with them to understand their unique needs.
- Resilience and self-assurance are essential, as you will work with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- You will be skilled in prioritizing tasks, demonstrating problem-solving abilities, and adapting to changing situations.
- Flexibility is key, with a willingness to work non-traditional hours, including shifts, sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook, is required.
- A valid Australian Driver's License, Working With Children Check, and NSW NDIS Workers Screening Check are necessary.
- You must be able to pass a National Criminal History Check and hold full COVID vaccination status.
- Experience in working with high-needs Disability clients is highly desirable.
- Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent is desirable.
- Demonstrated understanding of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) processes is desirable.
- Handy craft skills, such as sewing, knitting, or crocheting, are desirable.
