Job Summary

The role of a Chassis Technician is crucial in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of intermodal chassis.

This position involves inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining intermodal chassis to meet safety and operational standards.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain intermodal chassis, including braking systems, lights, suspensions, landing gear, tires, and structural components.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues on chassis and related trailer equipment.
  • Perform regular maintenance inspections and DOT inspections.
  • Weld, cut, and fabricate parts as necessary to complete repairs.
  • Document all work accurately and efficiently.
  • Operate power tools, hand tools, and shop equipment safely and effectively.
  • Ensure all work complies with regulations, industry standards, and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with other technicians to achieve timely and effective repairs.
Requirements:
  • Experience in chassis/trailer repair and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of brake systems, lights, tires, and framework.
  • Basic welding skills are preferred but not required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
