Conveyor Technician Job Description

VLI Australia is seeking a skilled Conveyor Technician to join our team in Kalgoorlie. As a Conveyor Technician, you will be responsible for the safe and timely completion of service-based activities, including conveyor inspections, repairs, overhauls, and service/installation of conveyor belt cleaning components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular conveyor inspections to identify potential issues and implement repairs or maintenance as needed.
  • Perform repairs and overhauls of conveyor systems, including belt splicing and roller change-outs.
  • Install and service conveyor belt cleaning components to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to complete tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and supervisors to ensure seamless operation of conveyor systems.
Requirements:
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
  • Valid Australian A or C class driver's license (HR license desirable).
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a larger team.
  • Willingness to participate in pre-placement medicals and ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
  • Valid National Police Clearance.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • Previous experience in mine site-based conveyor maintenance, including belt splicing, belt scraper, and impact bed maintenance and installations.
  • Mechanical trade qualifications.
  • Desirable tickets: Forklift License, Confined Space, EWP, Working at Heights, Dogman, or Riggers.
