Production Optimisation Specialist

We are looking for a skilled Production Engineer to join our team at Wacol, Brisbane. This role is crucial in driving process optimisation and improving assembly methods on the factory floor.

The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing environments, preferably with trucks, cars, or industrial products. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential.

This position involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to embed best practices, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and support day-to-day operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and updating assembly instructions to reflect product and process changes
  • Analysing manufacturing performance to identify improvement opportunities in safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Supporting the implementation of new tools, equipment, and production methods
  • Leading or contributing to cross-functional projects focusing on reducing waste and improving flow
  • Driving continuous improvement using lean tools such as FMEA, RCA, VSM, 5S, and AVIX
  • Specifying requirements and supporting the integration of new machinery or systems
  • Championing safety and compliance while aligning with principles of efficient manufacturing
  • Collaborating closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to implement robust and scalable solutions
