**Job Opportunity for General Surgery Fellow**

The Department of Health in Tasmania seeks a highly skilled professional to fill the role of General Surgery Fellow. This critical position is integral to delivering general surgical services to patients at Launceston General Hospital.

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking approved general surgical outpatient and inpatient services, participating in after-hours Registrar/Consultant on-call rosters, providing leadership and mentoring for surgical registrars and RMOs in training, and assisting with quality improvement, audit, and service improvement within the Department of Surgery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing private and public inpatients and outpatients within the allocated site/facility.
  • Providing after-hours emergency cover as determined by the relevant work unit.
  • Working closely with consultant staff to deliver high-quality patient care.

This opportunity allows the successful applicant to develop their clinical skills, gain experience in teaching and research, and contribute to the growth and development of the Department of Surgery.
