About the Role

The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) is seeking a highly skilled Media and Communication Advisor to play a critical role in the organisation's media management. This position will support the organisation's mission through effective communication strategies, media and social media engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily media operations, including media liaison, monitoring, analysis, and reporting
  • Prepare engaging media material and responses
  • Support emergency response media coordination
  • Oversee the management of AMSA's social media channels
  • Support communications for AMSA's international engagement

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in media, journalism, or communications
  • Experience in media and communication roles, preferably in Government
  • Strong crisis management and reputational risk management skills
  • Proficiency in managing social media channels
  • Excellent writing and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
