Transformative Software Engineer Role

We're seeking a highly skilled software engineer to join our DevSecOps Platform team, contributing to the development of cutting-edge technologies that shape the future of banking. As a member of our Engineering Quality crew, you'll play a crucial role in transforming our group capability to Automated Testing and supporting the bank's Engineering Platform integration with CI/CD tools, Test Automation Frameworks, and other essential services. You'll work collaboratively with our team to drive innovation and excellence in software engineering.

The Commonwealth Bank technology unit delivers exceptional digital banking services to CommBank customers, encompassing digital delivery, group data and analytics, technology infrastructure, cyber security, physical security, and business resilience across all divisions. This team also provides the best workplace technology experience to over 53,000 people, offering the latest tools, technology, and resources to enhance collaboration and empower our people to achieve more for our customers.

Our Engineering Platform team ensures that CommBank has a world-class engineering capability, leveraging innovative and emerging technologies to support our customers and Group strategy. We prioritize discovering and nurturing best practices within CommBank and the broader technology ecosystem.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing high-quality software solutions using languages like C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, and others
  • Designing and implementing secure and reliable software systems with comprehensive test coverage
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate testing frameworks and automation tools into our CI/CD pipelines
  • Providing peer code reviews and ensuring adherence to software reuse principles
  • Maintaining and monitoring non-production environments, with a focus on automated operations

Additionally, we're looking for candidates with expertise in public cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS and Azure, as well as experience with standardized metrics and reporting for testing and quality insights. Your proficiency in utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, and containerization will also be beneficial in this role.
