You will serve as a technical specialist designing and building effective solutions and enhancing the health of our systems/platforms/products. You will lead how we develop, deploy, and serve our web applications using React and JavaScript bundling.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Build:
    • Develop platforms and tools that support our technology strategy
    • Create and own critical shared solutions
    • Demonstrate engineering discipline and quality that uplifts our overall capability
    • Build and operate scalable and performant software aligned with existing frameworks
  • Execute:
    • Ensure writing clean, well-tested, readable software using secure coding practices, current patterns, and tooling
    • Lead secure system design and secure coding practices within the team, aligning with our security principles
    • Be a technical escalation point who owns and addresses production incidents through to resolution
    • Serve as the primary contact for technical solutions and how other teams interface with systems/tools/platforms

Requirements:

  • Technical Skills:
    • Proven experience building applications using React and TypeScript, and Server Rendering
    • Preferred experience in JavaScript bundling and related bundler tooling such as Babel plugins, ESLint plugins, Webpack or Vite
    • Proven experience taking responsibility for development & maintenance of a service/system/platform's health
  • Other Requirements:
    • Strong communication skills
    • An open-minded collaborator with a growth mindset
    • Prior experience working in online marketplace businesses would be beneficial
    • Experience partnering with, negotiating with, and influencing senior stakeholders (e.g., Engineering Managers, Architects, and Product Managers)
