Job Overview

A senior sustainability consultant is required to lead and drive the implementation of innovative sustainability strategies on major infrastructure projects across Australia. The successful candidate will have deep expertise in conducting comprehensive sustainability assessments, design, and operations, with a strong understanding of how emerging technologies can improve performance.

Responsibilities
  • Champion sustainable design, construction, and operations practices through innovative approaches.
  • Work collaboratively with designers to challenge conventional wisdom and embed cutting-edge sustainability principles.
  • Develop clear, well-researched reports and technical papers on a wide range of sustainability topics.
  • Use data-driven analysis to ensure accuracy and credibility, drawing on input from subject matter experts.
  • Partner with clients and project teams to integrate advanced sustainability strategies into infrastructure projects.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, environmental science, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience (ideally 10+ years) in sustainability within the infrastructure or transport sectors.
  • Proven experience as the principal sustainability lead in the delivery of Infrastructure Sustainability (IS) Ratings and/or equivalent infrastructure sustainability certification schemes.

This role requires a strong track record of leading and delivering sustainability assessments, a clear understanding of how design drives sustainable outcomes, and familiarity with infrastructure lifecycles.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively, and a passion for driving positive change through sustainable practices.
