Job Overview

We are seeking a senior Environmental Professional to join our Sustainability and Waste team as a Strategic Project Officer.

  • Coordinating and contributing to the development and implementation of key strategic projects for the Waste and Sustainability Department, under the guidance of the Manager, including strategies, policies, programs, reports, projects, and events, to support the achievement of identified departmental and/or team objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing high-level administrative support to the Manager Waste and Sustainability that assists to achieve Department outcomes.
  • Partnering with the Waste and Sustainability leadership team to implement Department initiatives and projects, as required.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree or diploma in waste and sustainability planning and policy, project management, local government, business administration.
  • Experience in effectively interacting with senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in providing professional advisory, research, and executive support within a complex organisation.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
