Environmental Sustainability Specialist

As a Waste Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective management of waste within our operations. Your primary responsibility will be to characterize and determine regulated and hazardous waste, adhering to local state waste regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement efficient waste classification systems, ensuring accurate storage, segregation, labeling, and documentation.
- Maintain the physical condition of the waste storage area, adhering to Australian regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Utilize digital waste reporting tools to log and containerize regulated and hazardous wastes, streamlining the waste collection process.
- Coordinate with vendors to schedule pickups and ensure timely completion of paperwork for each consignment of waste.
- Conduct site-based environmental inspections, identify areas for improvement, and collaborate with stakeholders to address gaps in environmental management.
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- A degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
- Proven experience in fulfillment/distribution centers, inventory management, and waste classification.
- An understanding of receiving processes and operations.
- Knowledge of state-based waste regulatory requirements.
- The ability to analyze data and identify opportunities for waste minimization.
