As a Fixed and Mobile Plant Mechanic with the Australian Defence Force, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the Navy's ships are in top working condition.

Requirements

You'll need to be willing to learn and adapt to new skills and technologies. Whether you have a trade, are an apprentice, or have no experience at all, you'll be paid from day one and have the opportunity to gain a Certificate III in Engineering – Fixed Mobile and Plant Mechanics.

You may also be eligible for recognition of prior learning and further qualifications, such as a Diploma.

As a sailor, you'll perform additional duties and learn more skills to become highly trained and efficient in supporting the whole ship.
