Advanced Critical Care Practitioner

As an Intensive Care Nursing Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and overseeing the supervision of junior staff within the ICU.
The Position- You will provide direct total patient care to patients in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures.
- You will demonstrate a thorough understanding of legislation affecting nursing practice and take responsibility for your actions.
- Maintaining harmonious relationships between staff, patients, relatives, doctors, and ancillary staff is crucial.
- You will collaborate with team members in assessing allocated patients and ensure accurate documentation.
- Effective communication with all care team members and reporting changes in patient status to relevant personnel are essential.
- You will initiate discharge planning upon patient admission to optimize resource utilization and prepare the patient/family for discharge.
- You will document any incidents and report them to the NUM/ANUM.
- You must have current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
- A post-graduate qualification in critical care and recent clinical experience within ED, particularly in resuscitation and triage, are highly desirable.
- To succeed, you will possess well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to identify and solve problems.
