About the Role

Ausenco is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Newcastle. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading and delivering mechanical technical solutions across the full life-cycle of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement mechanical technical solutions in accordance with project scope, time-frames, and best practice standards.
  • Lead and manage mechanical engineering teams to deliver high-quality results.
  • Prepare and deliver technical proposals to meet client requirements.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of project requirements as they relate to scope, cost, and schedule.
  • Develop and manage mechanical work plans to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Manage and review engineering work packages to ensure budgets and schedules are met.
  • Review and approve mechanical technical deliverables, including specifications, datasheets, and drawings.
  • Assist in the preparation and development of project-specific procedures.
  • Lead and support the development of junior mechanical engineers within project teams.

About You

  • You hold a tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering and are a Chartered Engineer (CPEng or equivalent).
  • You have extensive experience in detailed design projects, preferably in lead roles.
  • You possess technical expertise in materials handling, hydraulic design, and/or process plant design.
  • You have a proven track record of success in EPCM environments and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You are a strong leader with experience in client-facing roles and have a demonstrated ability to plan and deliver results.
  • You have a strong understanding of safety principles, standards, and legislation.
