Ventia has been awarded a new four-year contract by Seqwater to provide preventative, corrective, and reactive maintenance services for its water network. This contract involves delivering electrical, mechanical, and instrumentational services across 35 water treatment plants, 95 pump stations, and 26 referable dams.

Job Overview

The Maintenance Engineering Manager position is a key role within Ventia's team, responsible for strategic and operational management of the Engineering and Maintenance function under the Seqwater Collaborative Asset Services contract. This position will provide leadership and support focused on improving operational efficiencies, moving from reactive response to proactive preventative maintenance, and towards a data-driven condition-based maintenance regime across all Seqwater assets.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective preventive and reactive maintenance strategies to ensure optimal asset performance and reliability.
  • Drive a culture of compliance and safety, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Manage budgets effectively, optimizing resource allocation to minimize costs while maximizing efficiency.
  • Lead and train a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and professional growth.
  • Analyze data to inform equipment monitoring and training initiatives, driving continuous improvement opportunities.
About You

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience:

  • A tertiary qualification in engineering or project management, complemented by significant mechanical or electrical trades experience.
  • Proven financial management skills, with experience in cost control and business literacy.
  • A proven track record in maintenance engineering management, demonstrating expertise in managing complex projects and teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to develop strong relationships with stakeholders, direct reports, and senior client personnel.
