The opportunity

The Investment Management and Research team is responsible for the super and IDPS investment menus as well as the managed funds and models provided by Netwealth.

We are seeking an experienced investment research professional to join our team to lead the investment reviews for new model managers and managed models that will be distributed through the Netwealth Managed Account Service.

You will evaluate investment managers and finalise investment mandates for these proposed models, both of which require a consultative approach with external investment managers. You will write and present your recommendations to the Investment Committee to secure approval for the appointment of the investment manager and the issuance of new managed models.

This is a key, high-profile role that is pivotal in expanding the managed accounts segment and is ideal for a manager research professional looking to advance their career. Collaboration with the Product team and other stakeholders will be essential to prioritise opportunities, execute plans, and ensure thorough investment due diligence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of investment review for prospective new investment managers and managed models including the provision of recommendations to the Investment Committees
  • Assist with implementation on new managed models and the achievement of business targets for new managed models
  • Ownership of the research relationship with external managers and consultants

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Investment Research professional who understands the investment process and philosophy really well and has a proven ability to manage and analyse complex financial products, taking a consultative, and people-first approach.

Requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in financial services related disciplines (commerce, financial markets or financial advice). Relevant industry certification (CFA, CIMA, FRM, etc) is highly regarded.
  • Minimum 5 years investment analyst or manager research experience and preferred exposure to managed accounts.
  • Knowledge and understanding of platform financial products and their use by clients and advisers, including an understanding of managed accounts.
  • Sound organisational and time management skills and ability to work autonomously.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) to enable effective communication of complex concepts and preparation of reports.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders, based on technical expertise.
  • Attention to detail, to ensure complete and accurate information on managed models and written documents.
  • Sound numeracy and Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to assist modelling.

Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $120,000 to $180,000 per annum, depending on experience. We also provide access to further education and diverse training opportunities, and actively support internal mobility.

We have a flexible and adaptable hybrid working policy with the expectation you'll spend 4 days a fortnight coming into our state-of-the-art office. We're located in the heart of Melbourne's CBD and have all the bells and whistles you would expect - including modern end of trip facilities for your commute to work, and breakfast provided daily.

We have a number of benefits that have been designed with a focus on health and well-being, support and growth. Some of these include:
