Haematology Technician Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to fill this critical role within our laboratory.

About the Job

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine testing, prioritizing specimens, and working effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary for the provision of accurate results, including relevant advice to laboratory staff and external clients.
  • Efficiently prioritize tasks, perform routine testing accurately, and work towards the logical solution of technical problems in a fast-paced laboratory setting.
  • Exercise level of independence in decision making to increase commensurate with level of experience and competency.
  • Contribute to quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation/certification.

Key Qualifications

  • A tertiary diploma or associate degree (or equivalent qualification) in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent from a recognised university or tertiary institution is required.
  • Provide details of any visa conditions if not a permanent resident of Australia.
  • Ability to participate in all rostered shifts, including days, afternoons, overnights, weekends, and public holidays covering 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Vaccination Requirements

  • Vaccination against Hepatitis A & B, Measles, Mumps, Pertussis, Rubella, and Varicella during employment is mandatory.
  • Additional vaccination requirements including Japanese Encephalitis and Rabies must also be met.
