The Community Mental Health Clinician plays a vital role in providing community-based psychiatric care to consumers living in the city of Melbourne.

As a specialist in public mental health, you will work collaboratively with other clinicians to provide treatment interventions for individuals with significant mental illnesses.

Our multidisciplinary team responsible for mental health care consists of clinicians, nurses, and support staff who work together to provide recovery-focused services to consumers with mental illness and their families/carers.

This is a dynamic team environment where specialists can gain experience in a broad range of community-based presentations and develop discipline-specific interventions.

You will assess and provide evidence-based recovery interventions to consumers with various psychiatric illnesses, coordinate medical, psychosocial, and legal aspects of care delivery, engage with consumers, their family members, and other service providers, and deliver clear documentation of evidence-based best practice and contemporary models of care.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you should have relevant registration with AHPRA for nursing, occupational therapy, or clinical psychology. Social workers are eligible for membership with the AASW.

You should be motivated, committed to continued learning, and passionate about caring and making a genuine difference in the lives of public mental health consumers and their family members.

Communication skills are essential for this role, including verbal and written communication. You should also be able to work autonomously and contribute positively to the team's well-being.
