Job Title: Horticulture Apprentice

A horticulture apprentice position is available in our organization.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to gain practical skills in parks and reserve maintenance, working with a team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Open Spaces team in maintaining open spaces, parks and gardens.
  • Participate in rotations across various areas, including turf/sportsfield maintenance, greenkeeping, nursery, tree maintenance and bush regeneration.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Complete a Certificate III in Horticulture course at Yallah TAFE to gain theoretical and practical knowledge and skills.
  • Hold relevant certifications such as a Medium Rigid (MR) truck licence, forklift ticket, loader competency, etc.
Benefits:

As a Horticulture Apprentice, you will work towards gaining formal qualifications with four years of practical experience, and have the opportunity to gain additional tickets.

Other Requirements:
  • You will need to complete a Pre-placement Medical examination.
  • You will need to obtain a General Construction Induction Card (White Card) prior to commencement.
