As a key member of our Government Relations team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective government relations strategies to support the delivery of the Metro Tunnel Project.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and implementation of government relations strategies to support the delivery of the Metro Tunnel Project.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external government stakeholders to engage with state government MPs affected by and with an interest in the project.
- Identify and implement innovative and creative initiatives to assist state government MPs to raise community awareness about key elements of the Metro Tunnel Project.
- Develop and maintain communications material about the project that is clear, timely and accessible to state government MPs.
- Monitor public comments and research information relevant to the project and provide accurate and up-to-date reporting on government relations issues and the progress of issues resolution.
- Support state government MPs and their staff in responding to public enquiries in a timely and appropriate manner, in accordance with established protocols.
- Monitor, audit and maintain any databases to ensure that all interactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Represent the State Government of Victoria, Australia in briefings and on external stakeholder reference groups as required.
- Undertake a broad range of administrative support tasks, including preparing documents and reports, taking and preparing meeting minutes, arranging meetings and other general tasks, as required.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrated capability to build and manage positive relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including within Government, and work with a wide range of people to achieve desired outcomes.
- Managing Risks: Demonstrated experience in managing sensitive issues with key stakeholders with integrity and discretion. A proactive approach to identifying opportunities and risks, and an ability to identify innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Communicate with Impact: Strong written communication skills and experience in the preparation of timely, clear and concise presentations, briefing papers and correspondence. Strong verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to present to a wide variety of audiences.
- Time Management: Well-developed organisational and coordination skills with a demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and manage tasks under pressure and to tight deadlines.

- Extensive experience in communications, stakeholder relations and government relations. A tertiary qualification in Communications, Public Policy, Community Engagement or relevant field is desirable.
