Youth Justice Programme Manager

This role offers a unique chance to lead a team of Behaviour Support Specialists and contribute to improving the outcomes of young people's futures. The Department of Justice and Community Safety is responsible for supervising young people in the criminal justice system in Victoria, focusing on prevention, diversion, and early intervention.
Youth Justice Custodial Centres accommodate young people aged 10-18 years who have been remanded or sentenced by the Criminal Division of the Children's Court, as well as some 18-21 year olds sentenced by Adult Courts to a Youth Justice Custodial Centre.
The Rehabilitation Services program at the Parkville Youth Justice Precinct provides offence-specific, offence-related, and psychosocial intervention services to support young people's rehabilitation, manage complex behaviours in custody, and facilitate their reintegration into the community.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a multi-disciplinary team to deliver interventions and services to complex client groups.
- Provide high-quality supervision and access to professional development to maintain a culture that supports best practice.
- Develop and oversee individualised strategies, interventions, and plans that are person-centred, responsive to the young person's needs, and assist in reducing the occurrence and impact of behaviours of concern.
- Experience in leading a multi-disciplinary team to deliver interventions and services to complex client groups.
- Specialist expertise in working directly with young people presenting with multiple and complex needs, including offending behaviour, trauma, substance use, and mental health issues.
- Competence in delivering practice supervision.
